CITY OF FROSTBURG, MARYLAND NOTICE OF A PROPOSED REAL PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The Mayor and City Council of the City of Frostburg, Maryland proposes to increase real property taxes. 1. For the tax year beginning July 1, 2016, the estimated net real property assessable base will increase by 0.663 % from $337,974,445 to $340,216,442. 2. If the City of Frostburg maintains the current real property tax rate of $0.62 per $100 of assessment, real property tax revenues will increase by 0.694 % resulting in $14,538 new property tax revenues. 3. The tax rate is 3.9467% higher than the Constant Yield Tax Rate and will generate $82,673 of additional property tax revenues. A public hearing on the proposed real property tax rate increase will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, in the Frostburg Community Center, 27 S. Water Street, Frostburg, Maryland.
