Legal Notice The City Administrator, as an official of the City of Cumberland, has made application to the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland for a Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA #15-01) to the City of Cumberland Zoning Ordinance in accordance with Section 15.02 of the Cumberland Zoning Ordinance, also known as Ordinance #3775, and the Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The purpose of the proposed amendments to the Boarding House/Hostel Definition in Section 2.03 (22) and the Use Regulations Table in Section 6.02 of the Zoning Ordinance will be to limit the number of bedrooms and tenants for a Boarding House to four (4) and to prohibit the use in the Urban Residential (R-U) and Gateway Industrial (G-I) Zones, but add them as a use permitted by right in the Business Highway (B-H) Zone. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Cumberland will meet and hold a public hearing on this proposed Zoning Text Amendment on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 6:15 PM in the Mayor and City Council Chambers at City Hall, 57 North Liberty Street, 2nd Floor, Cumberland, Maryland. The Mayor and City Council will hear public comment and discuss this amendment request at the hearing. Interested persons should plan to attend. A copy of the proposed Zoning Text Amendment and the associated staff report are on file and available for public view at the City of Cumberland Department of Community Development during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM).
